Norman Means, MD

Norman Means, MD, is a primary care physician who cares for men, women and children of all ages. Dr. Means provides multiple services including preventive and chronic care. He also treats acute illnesses.

Board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and family medicine, Dr. Means earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He has completed a general surgery internship and pathology residency from the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville and a family medicine residency from Duke University/Southern Region AHEC Family Medicine Residency in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Dr. Means also served as a transfusion medicine fellow at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Dr. Means has more than 25 years of experience in various service areas such as emergency care and family medicine. He joins Lutheran Health Physicians after providing primary care at Van Wert Health in Ohio since 2017. Dr. Means has contributed to numerous written publications on various topics such as transfusion and immunohematology.
