Babak Salimi, MD
Babak Salimi, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician who treats infants, children and adolescents with chronic or acute illnesses and manages their physical, mental and emotional well-being. Prior to joining Lutheran Health Physicians, Dr. Salimi worked as a pediatric critical care specialist at the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.
Dr. Salimi completed a bachelor's degree in bio chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master's degree in biology/immunology from Northern Illinois University in Chicago before graduating with a medical degree from St. George's School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He furthered his professional training with a pediatric residency at Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Children's Hospital, as well as a pediatric critical care fellowship at the former Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.
Dr. Salimi is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has contributed to several publications covering numerous pediatric topics.
